WE RECYCLE. A LOT.
Over the last 30-plus years, we have put many sustainability practices in place. We have numerous memberships and certifications regarding these practices in recycling, energy conservation, waste reduction, and the manufacture of products using sustainable resources. To reduce our carbon footprint, we recycle the following items:
- 55 gallon plastic drums
- All press shop rag solvents
- Press blanket bars
- Aluminum press plates
- Paper; 3,163 lbs of paper in 2014
- Glass, aluminum, plastic and paper drink containers
- Laser printer toner cartridges
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Oil
- Batteries
- Metal
- Computer equipment
- Digital plate-making, eliminating the need for films/negatives
- Reusing boxes and fiber cores
Additional ways we reduce our impact on the environment include:
- Installed power correction equipment to balance power load
- Use of high-efficiency fluorescent light bulbs
- Use of Sun Chemical Relay Series Ink, made from 36% vegetable oils
- Replace standard equipment motors with high-efficiency motors
Today, we continue our efforts to find new and better ways to improve sustainability for the benefit of our communities, and our customers.
