Accounts Payable Specialist

 

GLS Companies is recognized globally as a premier commercial printer with over 35 years of experience is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team.  GLS is an innovator in print technologies, award-winning creative; state-of-the art web, sheetfed and digital printing and on-site mailing and fulfillment services.  In addition, we provide marketing services such as campaign strategy, rebranding and lead generation strategies.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will report to the Controller and will work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Manufacturing, IT and Accounting.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing in an accurate and timely manner all accounts payable invoices.
  • Responsible for petty cash fund, reconciling and reimbursements on a monthly basis.
  • Verifies all materials and outside purchases have been received for each job.
  • Prepares the equipment repairs report monthly.
  • Batches invoices for payment, prints checks and matches invoices.
  • Reviews all expense reports and issues reimbursement checks once approved by the functional executive.
  • Trouble shoots missing POs or packing slips, price differences, etc.
  • Works with vendors regarding payment schedule for open invoices, missing invoices, etc.
  • Closes payables at month end.
  • Responsible for training new Accounts Payable personnel.
  • Performs duties of other Accounting Team Members in their absence or as needed.
  • Understand your role in the companies Quality Management System regarding ISO.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  •  Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Computer literate and solid Excel knowledge

Building Services Technician

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable person to perform inside janitorial work, outside grounds keeping and light maintenance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • General facility operation maintenance such as: repair/install plumbing fixtures, painting, carpentry work, flooring, drywall, etc.
  • General janitorial – vacuuming, sweeping, mopping
  • Operates power devices; such as floor scrubbing machines
  • Empties and maintains outdoor waste cans and ashtrays
  • Assists with the cleaning and upkeep of the production area
  • Assists with safety issues and monitors eyewash and fire extinguisher sign-offs
  • May perform other janitorial duties as needed

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ years of cleaning and/or light maintenance experience is strongly preferred
  • Be a team player

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to reach above and below the shoulders
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull

Accounts Receivable Manager

The Accounts Receivable Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with Sales, Client Services, Manufacturing, IT and Accounting.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and train Accounts Receivable staff
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Prepares and/or reviews periodic accounting reports
  • Work with Sales and IT to implement unique customer programs and the related invoicing
  • Manage pre-invoice and invoicing functions
  • Oversee new customer credit application process
  • Decision maker for customer credit limits
  • Work directly with large customers to resolve past due customer balances
  • Understand roles and responsibilities of each team member and be able to assume their duties in their absence or as needed based on volume.
  • Special projects working with the CFO

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  •  2+ years of management experience
  • Credit and Collections experience
  • Financial Accounting experience a plus
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience a plus

Hand Worker Lead

 

The Hand-Worker Lead is responsible for providing superior leadership for GLS employees and temporary labor associates, which results in timely and accurate completion of projects, within budgeted limits. This position is 2nd shift.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Ensure Production and Quality Reports on all projects are completed
  • Oversees handworkers to assure quality, accuracy and speed of production
  • Coach handworkers to assure quality, accuracy and speed of production
  • Verifies time cards and reconciles against work performed
  • Operates material and production equipment
  • Effectively communicate issues to the next shifts leadership, planner, supervisor or manager
  • Coordinate and process remaining daily outbound shipments
  • Assist as required with warehouse replenishment and cycle counting
  • Provides backup for Planner, Distribution Supervisor and Distribution Manager as needed
  • Maintains accurate counts of completed items/projects and submits accurate counts of all remaining materials
  • Knowledgeable on all shipping systems and maintains accurate records
  • Maintain temp labor skills achievements records
  • Informs and updates Planner or Supervisor of all projects, run rates, quality issues and other pertinent information.
  • Utilize WMS data collection system
  • Submits written reports of daily activities to Planner or Supervisor
